Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Portico Technologies LLC ("we") collects when you use IndieBrowser, why, and the choices you have. In short: we collect only what we need to sell you games and let you play them. We don't sell your data, run ads, or use tracking or analytics cookies.
Information we collect
- Email address: when you sign in or buy a game. It's your account, where we send receipts and sign-in links, and how we contact you about your purchases.
- Purchase records: which games you bought, when, the amount, and your agreement to our Terms at checkout.
- Payment information: handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We never see or store your full card number. Stripe tells us limited details such as your billing country, ZIP code and the last four digits of your card.
- Wishlist and ratings: games you save for later and thumbs-up or thumbs-down ratings you give.
- Technical information: your IP address, approximate country (to check whether we can sell to you), browser type, and basic server logs. We keep these for security, fraud prevention and to handle payment disputes.
- Messages and requests: what you send us, including game submissions from developers.
Game saves are stored by the game in your own browser, not on our servers. We can't see or recover them.
Cookies
We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in. Games may store saves and settings in your browser's local storage on their own game domain. We don't use advertising, analytics or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use information
- to process purchases, deliver games and keep your library;
- to sign you in and send receipts and service emails;
- to prevent fraud, enforce our Terms and respond to payment disputes;
- to show developers aggregate sales and rating figures (never your email);
- to comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we don't share it for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We use service providers that process information on our behalf, only as needed to run IndieBrowser:
- Stripe (payments and fraud prevention)
- Vercel (website hosting)
- Neon (database)
- Cloudflare (game delivery and storage)
- Resend (email delivery)
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users' safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of the IndieBrowser business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and purchase records while your account is active, so you can keep playing what you bought, and as long as needed for tax, accounting and dispute purposes (generally up to 7 years for purchase records). Sign-in links expire after 15 minutes. You can ask us to delete your account at any time; deleting it removes access to your games.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, export or delete your personal information by emailing support@indiebrowser.io from the address on your account. We'll respond within 30 days. We may keep records we're legally required to retain. Residents of states with consumer privacy laws (such as California) have these rights by law, and we offer them to everyone. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Children
IndieBrowser is not intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use encryption in transit, signed sign-in links, separate domains that keep game code away from your account, and access controls on our systems. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Where we operate
IndieBrowser is operated from the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. We don't currently offer the Service in the European Union or the United Kingdom.
Changes
We'll post any changes here and update the date below. If changes are significant, we'll email you.
